Vinayaka Missions Medical College is situated in the picturesque views of Bay of Bengal. This institution was established in the year 1996 by our Former Chairman, (Late) Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram, a noble Philanthropist and Educationist of extraordinary vision in the field of education who is the founder of Vinayaka Missions University belonging to the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational & Charitable Trust.
Medicine department is committed to excellence in teaching and serving the people of Karaikal, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Vedaranyam. The department offers an amicable and academically challenging environment with an excellent reputation for the teaching quality, treatment facilities and research activities in the field of Medicine. The department is unique with fully dedicated hardworking faculties and staffs who are responsible for the each and every success of our department. The department is manned by four individual units with unit chiefs and Associate & Asst. Professors, Sr. Residents and Jr. Residents. Echo, ECG and TMT are employed for needed cases. Bronchoscope is used in Respiratory cases. Cardiology clinic is managed by cardiologist. Colour Doppler is available.
This important life saving equipment is available. There are three dialysis units with which nine patients are dialyzed every day. The patients come from far and near, and even from the well equipped govt. hospital of Karaikal.
