OVER VIEW
Chest and TB department functions as independent department with qualified and
experienced faculties and qualified subordinate staff. It comprises of OP, IP, RICU and
RNTCP programme treating all patients attending the OP. Patients getting admitted are
thoroughly investigated by sophisticated investigations like PFT, CT, MRI, ultrasound,
biopsy procedures. Certain patients are referred to higher specialties.
Patients come from Karaikal district, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Cuddalore
districts. Patients are referred from peripheral health centre also. RNTCP procedure is
implemented and statistics submitted to state health administration. All meetings of
Puducherry state programme are attended.
