Coating ceremony for the First MBBS 20.09.2019
White coat ceremony at Vinayaka Missions Medical college, Karaikal was conducted on 20th September, 2019 for 2019-2020 MBBS Batch students. Respected Dean Dr.G.Ambujam inaugurated the white coating ceremony by lightening the Kuthivilakku and delivered inaugural address. For Medical Professionals, the white coat is more than just a piece of clothing. It is a symbol of the humbling responsibility of caring for patients and curing disease. The white coat ceremony at our Vinayaka Missions Medical college indicates the beginning of students journey to achieve the long white coat, when they are physicians. It also symbolizes professionalism, caring and trust, which they must earn from patients.
White coat ceremony at Vinayaka Missions Medical college is a ceremony of passage to welcome the new medical student into the medical profession, although as an apprentice member. Every year it is scheduled before Theory and laboratory sessions starts. The students families and friends are invited to this ceremony to attend. The students are congratulated on their achievement in being selected as medical students and this institution. The students emphasized about their commitment, as student doctors, they are making both to becoming and staying proficient in the science and technique of medicine and also to the human obligations of being a doctor-especially to the central obligation of caring for their patients.
Respected Dean Dr.G.Ambujam, welcoming the new students and emphasized the importance of the human side of medicine and the importance of integrating it into the science and technology of medical practice. White coat, Student Kit, Knee hammer along with Stethoscope and Student Identity cards were issued to all the Students by Dean Dr.G.Ambujam, Vice Principal, Dr.G.Vijaya kumar Nair, Medical Superintendent Dr.Syed Maroof Saheb.H and Various Heads of Department. All students and their parents attended the function.
