On 12-12-2023 to 14-12-2023 Vinayaka missions medical college and hospital organized an 3 days orientation program for Ist year Post Graduate on Thesis and Research Methodology -Workshop at A.S.G Hall in our institution. Our Dean Prof. Dr. C. Gunasekaran Sir Inaugurated the Workshop and gave Inaugural Address. Day 1 activities.:- Dr.C.Prasanna Vadhanan, Professor & Head Department of Anaesthesiology gave lecture under the topic Introduction to Research Methodology followed by Dr. D. Karthikeyan, Research Coordinator cum i/c CRL gave lecture under the topic Timeline & Requisites of PG Thesis & Ethics in Medical research and finally Dr. R.Niranjjan Associate Professor Department of Community Medicine gave lecture under the topic -Steps in Research Protocol Development. Day 2 Activities started by Dr. Nancy and Dr. Sathishkumar Assistant Professors Department of Community Medicine gave lectures under the topics :-Study Design , Sampling & Sample size Calculations. Followed by Dr. S. Gayathri Assistant Professors Department of Community Medicine gave lecture under the Topic Developing Proforma, Dr K. Suganya Assistant Professor Central Research Laboratory gave lecture under the Topic Data Base in Research & Facilities in CRL-VMMCH and finally Dr. K. Kalaivani Professor & Head Department of Ophthalmology conducted a quiz program. On Day 3:- PG Research Proposal Presentation competition 2023 was held.PG’s From General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics , Paediatrics , OBG , Anaesthesiology , Dermatology , ENT , Ophthalmology , Psychiatry , Radiology , Community Medicine ,Forensic Medicine , Pathology and Biochemistry participated in the competition. Dr. P. K. Govindarajan Professor Department of Community Medicine & Professors from Concern Department are the Chair Person for the Competition. Finally Valedictory function was Held . Prize were awarded to the best performed teams in quiz & Research Proposal Competition. Workshop completion certificates were issued to all the participants.
