In commemoration of Mrs. Annapoorani's - Founder Chancellor's birthday celebration, OBG CME FERTIVA- 2024 was conducted by the OBG department, VMMC, Karaikal on 26th October 2024.The CME started with a prayer song followed by the lighting of a kuthuvilaku.A welcome address was given by Dr. K. Geetha (Professor & HOD). The inauguration was presided over by our respected Dean, Dr. Gunasekeran MD, DCH. Dignitaries and our guest speakers were felicitated. A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. C. Amritha MS(OG), Assistant Professor, VMMC. The academic session was started by Dr. DakshinaMoorthy Janani PhD, CGC, NPDF(IITM), who delivered a lecture on types of genetic testing in the preconceptional period. This was followed by a guest lecture by Dr. UshaNandhini (Consultant in Fetal Medicine/Fetal Cardiology) on fetal intervention to postnatal management. A talk was given by Dr. Dev Krishna Bharti M.S MCH(Urology) on Managing ED - What's next beyond pills? Last but not least, Dr. NanthiniSaravanan M.S, FICOG, Assistant Professor, JIPMER, Karaikal delivered a lecture on preconceptional counseling - a best approach. Our Postgraduates presented capsules on: * Capsule 1 by Dr. S. Jyotsna Rani on the topic NIPT pros and cons. * Capsule 2 by Dr. Koushalya on the topic Dual stimulation in IVF. * Capsule 3 by Dr. Pavithra Baiju on the topic fertility-sparing techniques.
