Department of General Surgery | Overview

In OP, around 50-70 cases per day are seen on all days of the week. Out of them around 10-15 cases are being admitted. Specialty OPDs are conducted once a week. They are: Thyroid clinic, Breast clinic, Diabetic foot and  Oncology clinic . Minor surgeries (under LA) like excision of swelling, biopsy etc are done.


Academic activities:

P.Gs: Clinical classes (Journal club / semina Symposium) are taken between 2-4 pm. on all days. UGs: Apart from OPDs, ward clinics and theory classes are taken as per schedule (5 classes per week). Major Surgeries include elective and emergency surgeries and Laparoscopic surgeries. Endoscopy GI & Colonoscopy are done twice a week (Tuesday and Saturday). Cleft lip and cleft palate repairs are carried out under the auspices of institution’s Rotaplast and Rotary club.
